How it works

“The limits of my language are the limits of my universe”

Ludwig Wittgenstein

In order to be relevant to an international audience, a document must be translated. But translation is not just about going from one language to another. A content, however important, will have no impact if your client does not understand it. This is why I propose to devote myself to it with my know-how.

Optimize your contents

I am guided by the desire to help my clients to have the best: My first motivation is to see you reach your goals in terms of communication. This applies to everything I do: from the development of my proposals, through my availability throughout the mission, to the delivery of the final document.

Execution of a translation project

One of the secrets of excellence lies in project management. This allows me to be responsive, reliable and flexible, and represents a real added value in a translation project.

The translation process

Depending on the technical factors and the constraints imposed, the processes may vary. However, here is how a standard project works:

%

The order

I receive a translation request. I study its feasibility, meaning that I take into account the various constraints (time, volume, technical speciality, language pairs …), then I send the client a translation quote with conditions. I am waiting for the validation of the customer and the official transmission of a purchase order.

The research

I then proceed to the terminological research and study of the source text: clarification of any doubts of understanding or errors contained in the source document. I carry out research on the subject matter, study of the documents of reference, verification with the customer of the existence or not of the own terminology etc …

%

The production

I translated the source text by using a translation memory and terminology management software. During the translation, questions may be asked to the client. In addition, I constantly monitor the progress of the work, ensuring that deadlines are met and that the instructions of the client are well respected.

Proofreading and revision

When the translations are completed, I proceed to the revision by ensuring the consistency of all translated elements for the purposes of validation of the translation. Finally, when the revision of the translation is completed, I run a quick proofreading of the target text only, to verify that the result is free of errors.

%

Verification and delivery

A last quality control and formatting if necessary, because it is sometimes necessary to “rearrange” the text on the page so that the whole is visible and harmonious.
Finally, I make the final checks and prepare the delivery by making sure that all the items required by the customer are compliant.

Archiving

At the end of the delivery, the project is archived and kept for a period of six months to allow to find it if the client requests so. The document is of course archived in all confidentiality. In fact, the essence of any translated document is confidentiality because the target population has not yet read it since it has not yet been released.
